HAIR REMOVAL

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a light-based treatment designed to reduce unwanted hair on the face and body. Controlled pulses of light are absorbed by the pigment within the hair, generating heat which targets the hair follicle and helps to reduce future hair growth.

As hair grows in different stages, IPL is most effective on hairs that are in the active growth phase at the time of treatment. For this reason, a course of treatments is usually required, with sessions spaced at appropriate intervals to target hairs as they enter this phase.

Where does it treat?

IPL hair removal can be used on many areas of the face and body, including the upper lip, chin, underarms, arms, legs, bikini area, back and chest. Treatment areas and suitability will depend on your individual hair and skin type following a consultation and patch test.

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is an advanced light-based treatment that uses controlled pulses of broad-spectrum light to reduce unwanted hair. Unlike a laser, which uses a single wavelength of light, IPL delivers multiple wavelengths of light, allowing treatment to be tailored according to individual skin and hair characteristics.

The light energy is absorbed by melanin, the pigment within the hair, and converted into heat. This heat targets the hair follicle to disrupt the hair growth cycle and progressively reduce future hair growth.

IPL hair removal treatments are tailored to the individual following a thorough consultation and assessment of your skin and hair. A patch test will also be required before treatment.

As IPL is most effective when hair is in the active growth phase, a course of treatments is required to achieve optimal hair reduction. The number of treatments and intervals between sessions will depend on the treatment area, your individual hair growth cycle and how you respond to treatment.
