SCLEROTHERAPY

Sclerotherapy is a medical treatment used to help reduce the appearance of thread veins and small varicose veins. It involves the injection of a prescription medication into the affected veins, causing them to close and gradually fade over time as the body naturally reabsorbs them.

Treatment suitability is determined following a full consultation and assessment, as individual results and the number of sessions required can vary depending on the extent and nature of the veins.

The treatment is typically well tolerated and is carried out in a clinical setting using a very fine needle to deliver the solution into the targeted veins.

Most clients describe only a brief stinging or pinching sensation during the procedure.

No anaesthetic is required, and most people are able to return to normal daily activities afterwards, depending on individual response. You may be advised to temporarily avoid strenuous exercise, heat, and prolonged standing following treatment.

It is common to experience some mild redness, bruising, or swelling in the treated areas afterwards. This usually settles gradually over the following days to weeks as the veins begin to fade.

Aftercare advice, including the use of compression hosiery where appropriate, will be discussed with you during your appointment to support recovery.
