You asked for it… and I’ve trained in it! Sclerotherapy is coming to clinic soon.

Sclerotherapy is a treatment used from an aesthetic perspective to reduce the appearance of thread veins and small varicose veins, most commonly on the legs. A solution is injected into the vein which causes it to close and gradually fade from view. It’s a well-established treatment that can significantly improve the cosmetic appearance of veins that many people find bothersome. I’ll be sharing more information soon about suitability, consultations and when bookings will open.

I have now fully settled in at Little Massingham Manor, and it has been lovely offering extra clinic days and flexibility for my patients. Thank you for your patience whilst the Wi-Fi was being sorted — it wasn’t easy checking records or taking payments but we got there in the end! Thankfully everything is now up and running smoothly and hopefully all the creases have been ironed out.

I’m getting such a positive response about the new location. If you ever come to see me on a Monday morning, the Manor hosts a coffee morning, so feel free to arrive a little early for a wander and a brew.

The best bit for me? I can now leave all of my equipment on site, meaning I arrive at work with one bag instead of five!

I’ve also started providing mentorship to newly qualified practitioners. If this affects your appointment I will always let you know in advance, and of course you are completely free to decline observation. Your consent will always be requested beforehand and this will never impact the quality of your care.

Some disappointing news from Advanced Nutrition Programme — they are no longer stocking the supersize collagen. I know many of you preferred the larger boxes so this may be frustrating. They do still offer the 60 capsule size, although it does mean ordering a little more often. I have certainly fed back my views on the matter!

I have also introduced Klira to the clinic. This is ideal for patients with complex acne or rosacea. With Klira I am able to prescribe a bespoke medical-grade moisturiser tailored to your skin, sometimes including ingredients such as tretinoin or hydroquinone, which are not available over the counter. The routine is beautifully simple: two pumps at night and that’s it — you all know how much I love simplifying skincare.

I am also insured to treat patients under 18 for complex skin conditions, allowing younger patients to access appropriate medical-grade skincare when needed.

On the education front, Module 4 of my dermatology course has now recommenced, meaning I am over halfway through. My Postgraduate Diploma is very nearly achieved — watch this space.

A little update from the Grief household: Charles continues to excel at school, has a love for History, my sister has now moved locally and is planning to open an osteopathy clinic, and Ben turns 40 in a couple of weeks (sadly, no longer a surprise party!). I will also be away from the clinic from 13th April, returning on 25th April as we travel through Latvia, Estonia and Finland.

One small favour: if you’ve visited the clinic and been happy with your care, I would be so grateful if you could leave a quick review. I often forget to ask at the end of appointments (much to the horror of my SEO team!), so I’ll pop the link below if you have a moment. It really helps small clinics like mine grow.

Thank you all, as always, for your continued support 💛

Emily
